Re: Another build log

Received my buildlog shield from ejs last week and put it together yesterday. Re: Delrin nuts too wide

Glad I'm not the only person this happened to, I thought mine was a fluke. I also did the "just sand it until it fits" method. Delrin responds to sand paper as though it were soft wood though, so it was a pretty easy task.

Re: BrianH's Build log

I think a cam or ratcheting buckle would work better than the kind where you just pull them through like what's on camera straps and backpacks. McMaster has some ( http://www.mcmaster.com/#cam-buckles/=hy4c2w ) but the smallest width is 3/4". It also looks like it would be hard to attach them to the...

Re: Another build log

Thanks guys! The paint is rustoleum high performance enamel. I have a picture of the can, but for the life of me can't figure out how to get it into g+ and then get a URL for it from an iPhone. The motors are indeed the nema 23s from Phidget's. I used paracord to sheathe the wires, takes forever but...

Another build log

Yet another pre-inventables build log (just pictures basically) to make everyone jealous. Although if it makes anyone feel better, I was lazy and don't have a driver board yet, so I'm basically stalled. I feel kind of silly for asking, but how does everyone know what number their machine is? https:/...

Re: Makerslide - is it really so special?

...Not sure what you exactly mean by inexpensive. IMHO,the price sold by Inventables for example can hardly be considered as inexpensive particularly, if you read again what Bart Dring said about the price ... Yes the $10 per meter sounded inexpensive, but to be honest I don't have a clue. I hope I...

Re: Custom G-Code interpreter

is there anything i should consider adding? When running a job with GRBL, it sometimes says a code is not valid. It would be cool to be able to "verify" the commands in a file (and tell if it matters or not) Don't want to thread jack, but this wouldn't be hard to do as a pc side app, and probably m...

Section for projects?

It seems like the one of the coolest parts of a community like this is seeing all the stuff that other people have done. I know when I used to frequent the BYOAC forum I was mildly addicted to seeing others' shiny creations. I'm not quite clear on the purpose of the "Build Logs" section, but it seem...

Re: Update Inventables

I just tapped my first holes last night. It is a bit of a pain, but not difficult if you use some oil, take it slow, and back out when you start meeting a lot of resistance. I got an M5 tap at Ace for $5 and a wrench for another $5 or so. The wrench isn't the nicest, but I wasn't going to wait 3 wee...

Re: Things I miss about the old Google groups

I almost exclusively checked the google group from my phone. From my 5-minute search it looks like there are mods available to enable automatic mobile site viewing. I don't know how stable the mods are, but I'd like to vote that one be turned on if possible :)
