Re: XStepper: New complete Hardware GRBL solution.

I thought the 12V reg was to provide 12V to the fan output before feeding into the 5V reg that provides Vcc.

Re: z axis motor stalls

My z axis rod wobbles pretty bad, slightly better than the previous one that came with my SO2 kit did, but its still pretty bad. I don't know why its wobbling around if the rod its self seems relatively straight when rolled on a flat surface. Is the Z-axis motor axis aligned with the axis of the ro...

Re: electronic enclosure

I'm almost done with my enclosure prototype (in acrylic, with the final one to be in aluminum), and already have a laundry list of changes for v2. The more I mess with it, the more attractive the screwed-to-a-piece-of-plywood "enclosure" looks. As I've cycled through different possibilities, it's be...

Re: help for choice and control board assembly in a box

socket for spindle potentiometer for speed spindle you want to spin the 4th axis as if it was a normal lathe? Frankly I don't think any of the boards are designed for this. I think he's talking about spindle on/off and speed control, and not anything related to the 4th axis. A number of controllers...

Re: Aviation Plugs

I can't quite tell what the other end type is. Dupont 4 pin? Will the housing fit over the other end? If not, is the other end easier to disassemble and reassemble? Still a hassle, but perhaps less of one. I've gone through...many...pins crimping some connectors to go from my controller to panel con...

Re: help for choice and control board assembly in a box

You want to get a controller that supports 4 axes, and 5 motors. I don't have one, so I can't tell you much more than that. I am not sure how compatible Mach3 is with different controllers. It seems like an important factor is the parallel interface.

Re: help for choice and control board assembly in a box

I would like to buy just the mechanical kit for arduino I'm thinking of buying it at a later time, You can't wait too long, though, since you will need a controller to make things move. :) The use of the 5th axis is for the lathe as I would put the motors as I have listed. If the 4th axis is import...

Re: Toasted Stepper Board?

I've been using 9600 bps with my 9a (edge) controller. I haven't looked at the dev branch (9b-9d) to see what's changed.

Re: help for choice and control board assembly in a box

Welcome! I am going to buy the kit shapeko 2 [...] I assume from the rest of your questions that you are buying the mechanical kit (no motors or controller), but your final question might indicate otherwise. If you can make changes to the Arduino kit supplied with the kit Shapeco2 ? The full kit inc...

Re: What features would a new Shapeoko app need?

Define the scope of this app. There's the upcoming Easel (which Inventables is behind) for CAD/CAM, and there are several G-code senders written/supported by people active in this forum. I'm pretty sure there are wishlist threads going for all of the above. This isn't to say that there shouldn't be ...
