So I was looking for different materials from MakerSlide which are not standard profiles http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/openrail/openrail-open-source-linear-bearing-system (I don't endoris this campaign, however it is open source and it acknowledges being derived from MakerSlide) This is so fu...

Re: GRBL Hex File settings

I don't have a ShapeOko yet, but I have the electronic and the steppers working and I found that Edwards feed, seek and acceleration settings are better than the default or option 3:
$4=750.00 (mm/mm default feed rate)
$5=1100.00 (mm/mm default seek rate)
$8=9.8mm/s^2 (acceleration in mm/sec*2)

Re: GRBL Hex File settings

I'm working on pre-loading the Hex file on the Arduino's for the Full Kits that Inventables is putting together. What settings have you guys found to be the best? I think Alden is cutting the traces on the board for you guys? If so I guess Option 3: http://www.shapeoko.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t...

Re: Home switches

Thanks for the pictures! I have now both type of switches... I will wait until I have the ShapeOko assembled to see what fits best. But I will wire some up just to see if I need a new firmware on the Arduino or not. @JCPhlux I guess your solution is not just a home switch but also a limit switch, is...

Re: newbie question....

I always thought inch per minute, but I'm a newbie too and I'm not 100% sure... I was born and raised in a metric area of this world. I only know that $5 is a foot long, at least at Subways. :D

Re: Home switches

Thanks for all the information so far, I will visit my local electronics store tomorrow and I think I saw those before... maybe a little more locally but I like to support the store here too.
