Re: Visual alignment mod for shapeoko

Waaah, this is totally awesome!!! I have been thinking of doing a similar mod for a while but you beat me to it. Where do you find the time to upgrade your tool so much? I am way behind on all of these upgrades :-). Ok, so a couple of questions. 1) Can you link the camera model you used? Is this the...

Re: How to mount DW660?

Jimmy0x52, pourcirm The mounts were milled successfully out of HDPE. I have used the same material for my mounts and they have been working great for a couple of months. A little care needs to be used when mounting these since they need to be stretched apart and guided through the narrowest end of t...

Re: Adding limit switches.

Awesome, that really makes me want to get the limit switches working even faster. Does anyone have info on how much error can be expected from the homing switches? I am wondering, what the precision would be if let's say I used the homing switches to find the center of the X,Y axes multiple times? D...

Re: How to mount DW660?

@Jimmy0x52

let me see how the first set mills, and if it works well I can probably quickly mill a second. That is assuming there are no surprises :-).

I will try to mill the mounts for you tonight or tomorrow. I'll email you or post here when I am done.

Re: Adding limit switches.

Would the limit switches be the same thing as the homing switches? Or can these be combined somehow? Seems like they are the same thing....

Re: DW660 - Removing the tool-free collar?

Snap rings are a huge PIA sometimes. I have spent hours trying to remove/install some of them. Eventually I bought the pliers.

Re: Success!! PCB with Shapeoko

Hello, Can anyone who has implemented the $7=255 setting give some feedback on how well it works? I want to use this to lock the axes when I am changing bits, but am afraid of burning out my drivers (I have heatsinks and a fan to cool the drivers). To avoid damaging the drivers, does one turn off th...

Re: random erratic behavior?

Yes I can confirm exactly the same thing as described here has been happening to me as well. Most noticeably on the z-axis, although I have had it happen on the x-y axes as well. I agree with everyone else that it is most likely missed steps, after which the tool looses its absolute coordinates and ...

Re: Cutting stainless steel?

@cwalster

This is off-topic, but what application is there for cnc milling foam at your work? Sounds very interesting, and I am always curious what people are doing and for what purposes.
