Re: Need PCB Milling Settings

By far the best bit I've used for making PCBs is the PreciseBits.com PCB Traces-isolation Bits EM3E8-0100-25V . You can get the same bit from soigeneris.com, P/N C5 - PB-EM3E8-0100-25V I've made over a dozen PCBs and haven't broken a bit yet. Previously with a 0.0118" 2-flute micro carbide mill lik...

Re: Scott216 Build Log

I zipped together the files for my input shield. There is a png file for the schematic and pcb. If you have Cadsoft Eagle, you can open up the included Eagle design files. I also added the gcode files I used to make my board on my Shapeoko. It's a two sided PCB. I use a tapered 0.010" end mill There...

Re: Scott216 Build Log

I made a new input board where the limit switches, touch probe, e-stop and hold button are all connected. I've got LEDs that turn on when a limit switch or touch probe input is active. I was thinking of making a fancy input board with an isolated DC-DC power supply and opto-couplers. But after some ...

Re: Double Sided PCB

Nice board. I am going to attempt my first double sided board and I found FlatCAM very useful in creating the G-code. It has options for double sided boards. d If you're using Cadsoft Eagle to design your boards, then I'd recommend using pcb-gcode to create the gcode. It's a ULP script that works r...

Re: GRBL Spindle Speed Issue

I haven't used spindle PWM, but here's the link to v0.9i hex file:

Here's a link to the GRBL Wiki that talks about v0.9

Re: Raspberry Pi g-code senders for Grbl

I just installed python 2.7, pyserial and bCNC on my Windows 7 laptop and it seems to be working fine using that batch file. I noticed that when I jog, the Shapeoko switches to incremental mode, not absolute. The other programs I've used (UGS, GRBL Panel, and Chilipeppr) don't do this when jogging. ...

Re: Model Shapeoko 2 in Fusion

Has anybody modeled the Shapeoko 2 in Fusion? The reason I ask is I want to make the Shapeoko visible in Fusion when doing CAM so I can see my part on the build plate. Just like you'd have a vice visible on a milling machine when simulating CAM. I downloaded the stp file from grabcad and I imported...

Fusion 360 CAD + CAM

I just got on board with Fusion 360 and really like it. It has CAM and it's pretty easy to use. Nice simulator too. I haven't used any other CAM packages, so I can't compare. For CAD I was using Sketchup, which is great for a lot of things, but for things want to make on a 3D printer or CNC, Fusion ...
