Re: DSLR Camera Slider

Lastly... I finally got up the nerve to try something for silly's sake... add a personal logo.

Re: DSLR Camera Slider

The slider plate needed to be replaced as the new rails were wider than the previous set. This meant that the old plate was too short and while it supported the camera, it caused everything to bounce. This was part of the plan, but made all to clear (see the first video tests video previously posted...

Re: DSLR Camera Slider

It is quite a feat to get everything you want into too small of space. But I kept playing with it and eventually found a good place for it. I will be replacing the 4 x AA and 2 X AA battery holder for a 6 X AA holder. This should allow enough space to replace the Arduino with a Mega. This will give ...

Re: DSLR Camera Slider

This needed to be boxified, so I started working on the container.

Re: DSLR Camera Slider

More updates.... I have made quite a lot of progress. It was time to get the electronics into some sort of mobile situation, and able to be controlled by something other than my computer. The question was how to control the slider and have enough flexibility to do all sorts of things I have not thou...

Re: Looking at a couple vices... Which would you buy?

Hey Tom, the height thing has been a concern. I know eventually it will be a problem. Currently for this and a couple other projects I have in mind, the height will not be an issue as the pieces are small and not something I want to attempt on my drill press.

Re: Looking at a couple vices... Which would you buy?

Hey Chamnit, thanks for the response. How does the toolmakers vise attach to the table? From the pictures, I see no way it would mount. The Toolmaker has a diagonal screw. Is this to pull it towards the work piece as it tightens? Also, I am using an aluminum bed (Misumi), so I think the Carbide woul...

Re: Looking at a couple vices... Which would you buy?

Hey Will, Yeah, I have seen it. It's just another $40. I was getting a little edgy with the *80 of the Welton one. I know you have to pay for good tools, but I do not want to pay $120 for a tool that might not get used as much as I think it might right now (like your case). I am sure you bought that...

Looking at a couple vices... Which would you buy?

Hey all, I am looking at a Wilton drill vice , and a "Toolmakers" vice . I am in need of a vice so I can hold some of my aluminum pieces vertically to then mill screw holes, grooves... I am leaning more towards the toolmakers vice as it looks like it would be a flatter, more solid compression, but I...
