Re: CNC Freakshow

Ha. I said it was a freakshow. Sorry. I was just in awe of the machine(machine lust n all that). I've have never seen a tool change like that. Heck I have have never seen a machine like that period. Yeah the video is pretty rough.

Re: Fusion 360 section

I'd love to see a Shapeoko Fusion 360 forum section as well. The fusion forum works, but if we had a section with Shapeoko specific needs... I could see that being very helpful. I think the wiki thing would ultimately be fed from conversations once trends start to surface. Like Lordmundi, I really w...

Re: CamBam Help... 3D image

I use 0 as the surface. So... in your case 0 for the surface and -5mm for the target depth. Otherwise you have to start doing extra calculations for every depth... (70mm to the surface + the 5mm of depth of cut...). This is all fine for simple numbers, but when you start dealing with all sorts of ra...

Re: Profiler Perimeter after pocketing...

Hey Rob, I am using CamBam. Fortunately, in a pocket there shouldn't be any tabs, so I am good there, but good point none the less. 2mm sounds far better than .1 or .2 to me. Excellent. Georgei, what spindle are you using? When you say that your cutter was 1/8 long, do you mean 1/8 mill as in .125 w...

Profiler Perimeter after pocketing...

I have found good results in pocketing nearly to my desired boundary, then running a .1mm - .2 mm profile on the edge. On wood, I have run the profile as both stepped layers and running the whole wall successfully. I want to run the whole wall on aluminum (6061) but am concerned that it might be too...

Re: DSLR Camera Slider

No, that's actually quite easy. Just be sure that you are not sending 5V to your camera. Do some sort of a transistor in between, or better yet, optically isolate it. My scheme is to use 2 Arduinos. One for interface and LCD (4Bit set up), and the second for GRBL. The interface Arduino will send the...

Re: fusion 360 is AWESOME!!!

I watched a bunch of tutorials for Fusion. It sort of gets you started. I have been using Draftsight as my main 2.5D really most of the time I have had my Shapeoko. So, now aside from a couple little things, I really like it. So... In hopes to get going in Fusion... I took a project I had already do...
