Re: will1384's Shapeoko 2

I got most of the wiring done, and checked all the wiring for problems with a volt meter, everything looked good, hooked everything up and and turned on the CNC control box, the indicator light was lit, the power supply's green led is on, the Arduino UNO's green led was lit so it was was getting po...

Re: will1384's Shapeoko 2

Part (4) wiring. I spent a few hours today trying to figure out how the current limit is set on the grblShield, one way is to just "tune it in" I did that on my last CNC router, it worked but I never liked doing that. Here is the page on that. https://github.com/synthetos/grblShield/wiki/Using-grbl...

Re: will1384's Shapeoko 2

Will1384 - loving all the pics of your shop and shapeoko accessory builds. Can't wait to see what you do when the shapeoko is assembled and operational. I need to read up on limit switches. Thanks Part (3) assembly. This is all I got done today https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-034vr52QKhM/UuR06VX...

Re: Shapeoko 2 - Z-Axis - Wave Disc - left or right ?

Even if it's not shown in the diagram please use even spacers all around. If your M3 hardware is bottoming out add M3 washers to make up the space. Yep I read the instructions wrong, thanks. PS20016 5mm x 10mm x 1mm thick, Nylon Spacer x 4 pcs. (these are used for the M5 BHCS (#10. below) which hol...

Re: Shapeoko 2 - Z-Axis - Wave Disc - left or right ?

Oh yes, that step. It took me almost as much work as the rest of the images combined to make this one clear and easy to visualize. I wasn't having much success, when my better half walked in, looked briefly at what I was doing, and said off-handedly that it would look better with colored lines. Tha...

Re: will1384's Shapeoko 2

Yes, the pins have 5v then they are pulled low when the switch closes, should that be reversed, with it low until the switch closes ? No, you had them right the first time. GRBL expects pins to be normally high, and pulled low when a limit switch is activated. when I am using an Arduino for actual ...

Re: will1384's Shapeoko 2

Please do not take this as gospel, but when I am using an Arduino for actual Arduino projects not cnc related, it is recommended to use 10k in button type situations. So your diagram looks like the pins are seeing high and when the buttons close, it is pulled low, is this correct? Yes, the pins hav...
