Re: Alternative V-Wheel Materials

kk, thanks for posting that =]

Although the experience has still left me thinking about replacing the v-wheels with something more durable that won't eat the makerslide.

Re: Alternative V-Wheel Materials

When you use your finger to push on one of the lower v-wheels does it move freely or is it firmly on the rail? Some of my v-w...

Alternative V-Wheel Materials

I've completed the build of my Shapeoko 2 with no major issues (although it took a while to get the derlin lead nut running nice and smooth) however after having run a couple jobs I had a few bolts to tighten. While testing the tension (having reset the eccentric nut after tightening) one of my derl...

Re: Good quality tool kit from Radio Shack, Staples or Sears

Hacking together a good tool kit might be a good first lesson in hacking for him. Not all solutions come pre-packaged. As a wise man once told me "Dont buy something for what it can do, buy it for what you can make it do"

Re: Good quality tool kit from Radio Shack, Staples or Sears

Do you have a princess auto there? They have decent quality tools for a pretty good price. A nice screwdriver kit, a DMM, etc etc you could build a really nice kit there. Or try home depot or the like.

Re: Shapeoko 2 has started shipping early!

- when we work up some elegant way to tension them --- still racking my brains on that --- any ideas? Assuming the belt has: -fairly even elastic potential (that is to say any two 1 inch segments, having an equal pull force applied will stretch about the same amount) -we have two belts of the same ...
