I don’t believe anyone reported any significant flex in the X-axis carriage until Inventables started selling the single piece extrusion for it — AFAICT, it’s raison d’être are reducing parts count, simplifying assembly and reducing cost (which doesn’t seem to be passed on). To be blunt, seems to m...

Re: Multiple destroyed limit switches.

Is it possible the arduino isn't exceeding the wetting current of the switches? You could test that by trying to switch a slightly larger load with a "broken" switch.

Re: Shapeoko threaded table announced (again)

If you can find a slab of aluminum that size w/ a guaranteed flatness spec, let us know your source. Additionally, while not a limitless supply, I've bought much bigger pieces of tooling plate (still with the plastic protective film on it) as scrap at my l...

Re: Time to get rid

It would be really nice to get rid of that annoying pop up in the Shapeoko WIKI Shapeoko2 build instructions. Every page you click on brings up the ad for the Shapeoko 3. Make for a real pain in the butt after 1000th time you have to close the thing. Can this thing be removed? I mean if it pops up ...

I don't know why these are so hard to find, but here's the link.

Re: SO3 Z-axis spring alternative

I don't have a Shapeoko 3, but has anyone tried one of these? ... tor+Nema23?

It's cheap, and the description says "when power failure, the max holding torque can reach 1N.m." That sounds like exactly what you'd want.

Re: Collet for 5/64

I second cvoinescu's concern about spiral drills in a tool like the DWP 611. I had zero luck trying to run 1/8" spiral bits in my 300w spindle at around 8k rpm. They just snap. Not saying you shouldn't try, but have a few on hand and be prepared for disappointment. That's odd. I've drilled hundreds...

Re: Ultimaker Cura for CNC milling

If you are just a hobbyist, (not making lots of money from this) Fusion 360 is free. I actually called their help desk and got this confirmed. They also say it on their website. Quite a nice program and similar to the Autodesk Inventor I use daily at work. Have you had any success CAMing an importe...

Re: Shapeoko 3 Ads

The ads bother me, so I come here less often. There were no adds for the SO2, why now. I read the forum on my iPad, there is no add blocker. Are we here to sell SO3 machines or to help each other get the most out of what ever SO machine they have? I 100% agree with this. It feels more like a sales ...
