Re: Project Shapeoko HD

Very nice machine there Louis! Definitely has me re-considering my upgrade route, I'm digging that dual 4080 x-axis gantry! Thanks! And it's actually a triple 4080 gantry ;) It was very tricky to get them lined up perfectly on all 3 dimensions but after some work I made a very specialized jig that ...

Old HDX Gantry

Hey everyone, as some of you may know I've been working on a couple of new CNC machines these past 6-8 months and have gone through a lot of prototyping to get to where I'm at now. I'm selling the gantry that was used on the older HDX prototypes for $85 + $60 shipping. The gantry is made out of two ...

Re: Project Shapeoko HD

Hey everyone, I was browsing through some of my earlier posts on my thread and I saw some early photos of the prototype HDX. It's amazing the changes that have taken place. While the overall form factor is the same as well as some design elements having survived the gauntlet of scrutiny and testing,...

Re: Project Shapeoko HD

More photos as promised. I think they came out better than last nights, though I'll still have to take proper ones to use on the website that I'm working on. (Ignore the extrusions that the machine is laying on, it's so the floor doesn't scratch up the machine while moving it.) http://i214.photobuck...

Re: Project Shapeoko HD

Hey guys, the HDX (I'm going to announce its official name soon) has been built. Well, the mechanical aspect has, I have yet to mount the motors to it and what not. What you see in the photos is pretty much the mechanical kit that I plan to sell and what beta testers will get. The mechanical kit wil...

Re: Project Shapeoko HD

Hey everyone, It's been a while, I'm sorry for not making any recent updates. It's been really busy over here to say the least, there's a lot that goes into this endeavor. I'm pretty happy that the extrusions for the new HDX gantry came in today as well as all of the extrusions needed to construct t...

Re: Misumi Shipping Cost

Certain items from Misumi are slow to ship. It usually takes them 5-8 business days for them to even ship my orders to me. The shipping cost does seem a little steep but I can't really comment on it too much. I'm still waiting for my order that I placed over a week ago, so your case isn't too unsual.

Re: Project Shapeoko HD

Any ideas of price and when available yet for the complete kit yet? Bill Hello, A beta mechanical kit for a 1500 x 1000mm HDX will go for $1,699 + shipping. If you want a no fuss plug and play electronics kit that gives you commercial like performance that can be added for an additional $1,375 + sh...

Re: Project Shapeoko HD

Quick update. I have finished designing a MDF work bed kit that will be able to be purchased separately from a mechanical kit as well as be included in a full kit. I only managed to do the renders for the HDX (they take a while to make), so I'll do the HD tomorrow. The MDF work bed kit for the HDX w...
