Re: Fusion 360 lift z before first traverse?

I had the same issue. I found a shapeoko2 specific post processor that I now run with F360 and it does a z lift before traverse as expected. Let me see if I can find where I downloaded that from. edit: you can get the shapeoko post for F360 here: http://www.restrictedayerspace.net/cnc/autodesk-fusio...

Re: Vendor Sign Project

So here is the final product that was paid for this morning by the customer. I like both versions; nicely done! Can you share your technique for painting your engravings? Specifically, how did you get such perfect coloring without bleeding onto the surface of the cabinet door? I don't see any sandi...

Re: Finishing some engraved coasters

Thanks for the tips. Like I said I'm trying to improve my finishing techniques. My list above was utilizing stuff I already have on hand. I'm reading that an oil based poly will give better results over an oil based stain so I'll probably go pick some up. As for the black paint in my engravings, I'l...

Finishing some engraved coasters

Hello, I've been working on some engraved coasters that I want to give to friends and family (so they need to look nice). I haven't finished any of my projects before and am looking for some good advice on what type of paints and stains to use. They are made from oak and I used a v bit to engrave th...

Re: Fusion 360 Rough & Finish

It's probably just that I need to make two separate pocket operations: one for rough and one for finish. One with the finish box unchecked and one with the finish box checked. I'll try again tonight after work.

The simulation does show the "islands" not cleaned up in the middle of the pocketed letters. So my settings for a rough + finish pass may not be correct.

If you don't mind taking a look, I would really appreciate it.

Fusion 360 Rough & Finish

I normally just do rough for all my pockets and profiles in F360. Tonight I decided to try finish passes in an attempt to better clean up some lettring (pocket) features. When I ran the g-code using UGS, it never actually finished carving out the letters. When I went back and unchecked "finishing pa...

Re: Upvotes if you use Fusion 360

So this will raise the Z height before traversing to the first feature? If so, thank you, and I need to try this ASAP. Anything I generate with Fusion will rapid to the first feature without lifting the Z.

Re: Good deal on a 3D Printer

This looks like a useful mod. Brief text description for those of us disinclined to watch videos? It's a "Cheeze-Wizz" printer. It works about as well as you might expect. I saw this earlier today and came here to post but was apparently beaten to it. The video is worth a watch unless it's too chee...
