Re: cheap and easy way to control a stepper motor

Arduino Uno + easy driver + 12 to 36V power supply

Code to run it --- is in examples of Arduino IDE

Easy driver takes --- direction, step signals from arduino
and powers proper stepper coils with 12 - 36 v

Speed could be set by the code or read input from pot
or other input

Does grbl 0.9 version support both spindle and PWM laser?

Is there a version that does?

Thanks

Re: Heat resistant but millable material?

There are many millable ceramics out there.

Dental ceramic may be good -- mold it, mill it, use it, heat it

Why can't you glue down the components with Hi-temp adhesive?

Re: Need to establish workflow - help

You could just use MakerCam. Make a square path of the base of the small pyramid depth 1/4" Make a smaller square path of the next smaller step inside the previous of the small pyramid depth 3/16" Make a smaller square path of the next smaller step inside the previous of the small pyramid depth 1/8"...

Re: Idea for a DIY clamp/vise

Make up a galley with notches to provide bigger / smaller clamp areas?

Wooden quoins could be cnc routed
or

Re: Idea for a DIY clamp/vise

Take a look to the past

Some furniture (wooden blocks) and quoins (wedge locking clamps)
to lock your piece into a galley or chase (frame)

Locked down ready to route!

I am using a 1.75w 455nm Jtech photonics blue laser It required 10 passes to cutout around 2 inch square of 4mm corrugated cardboard see: Laser cutting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGAzMp4WPuA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giWm1DoAutY Laser engrave https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKhVfqIJO9I ht...
