Re: Arduino destroyed my SSD

Have you tried all the USB ports on your Mac? Or a different USB device you know works? I've a feeling it might be worth telling people to use a hub between the Arduino and their PC, especially the first time they get set up. Once everything is sorted it's not so important, but as a buffer it will s...

Re: Conventional vs climb. When to use what?

Micro milling can use Mills that are hair thin. But the arguments remain the same up until you have rigid tools. Of course, 'rigid' is down to your requirements!

I recommend using clockwise rotation for hole drilling. ;-)

Re: Non circular holes and lack of precision?

To gain anything there, you'll need to tighten the screws rather a lot to get the clamping force high enough to make any difference to stop them sliding and twisting. Perhaps if you bond them with superglue? That's semi reversible as you can kill it with a heatgun or superglue remover, but will stop...

Re: Edward's S2 Enclosure

You can trivially download a frequency spectrum analysis app for your phone. It will give you a rough breakdown of the audio frequencies and powers coming off. Simply mark the location and orientation of your phone so you get some repeatability. That's the place to start. Otherwise this is like shoo...

Re: Non circular holes and lack of precision?

Tw, I was more wondering what the expectations of the OP were.
Also, if that is still 2% at the full travel, yes, it will likely suck, but then it would be easily corrected by software tweak.

The combo lock is nice. I've actually 3D printed one along the same lines. Obviously great for showing people how they work.

Re: DW 660 Problems

Make sure the bit isn't slipping. Is it done up tight?

It might be as simple as that.

Re: Skillet Handle

You could wax the handle, then fill it partly with silicone, clamp closed, then run a razor around the seam once cured. The wax will stop the silicone from sticking. As for use in the oven, just use a wingnut or better, fashion some kind of release system so you don't need a tool to remove it. Or at...

Re: Non circular holes and lack of precision?

Not being mean or anything, but how accurate were you expecting the machine to be? 40mm planned and you got 39.19mm - that's almost exactly 2%, which isn't a lot of error. How close would you get that if you were cutting by hand? How far out are the circles? Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
