Easel Stepping Too Far in Z-axis (S2 w/Acme & NEMA 23 Z)

All, I asked the same question on the Inventables forum, but I figured that I'd put it to the larger audience here, as well. I'm having an issue with Easel making Z steps that are too large, on the Z axis only. I have a mostly stock Shapeoko 2, with a Dewalt 660 router, ACME Z screw, and a NEMA 23 Z...

Y Axis Problem on GRBL/Arduino

All, I have a lightly modded Shapeoko 2, which I just installed the Z-axis Acme screw upgrade, with a NEMA 23 stepper. I just finished tightening my Z-access makerslide to the Y axis carriage, and I started to have a problem with the Y axis. The problem is that I get a stuttering movement, when I tr...

Re: 3D CAD Tool Poll

I use 123D Design, for complex objects. I tend to build boxes and cases, and the ability to easily move my work pieces around really helps. Before 123D Design, I tried OpenSCAD, Sketchup, and Inkscape. OpenSCAD worked fine, but was _very_ slow, for me. I didn't really like Sketchup's interface, and ...

Re: Universal Gcode Sender v1.0.7 released!

I would guess, then, that you have a leftover entry in your registry that is causing the driver to misbehave.

I'd suggest uninstalling the Arduino software, and re-installing it.

Re: Universal Gcode Sender v1.0.7 released!

Paul,

I suggest trying a different machine. That will tell you if the Arduino itself is functioning.

Also, if you have one, try a different USB cable. Unlikely, but easy, and worth a shot.

Re: Universal Gcode Sender v1.0.7 released!

I have had the same problem, for quite a while, now. If you figure out what the problem is, let me know.

Re: Crossword Plaque

That is quite beautiful, and the notes on how you did it are quite instructive, to a CnC novice, like me.

Re: Skillet Handle

That is pretty darned cool, and I have a similar skillet, also by Griswold. I'll take a measure, when I get a chance, and let you know.

gperzel,

I don't see why it wouldn't, with Java 1.7 installed, of course.
