Re: My new Shapeoko 3 is it just me?

It's not just you. CNC totally smacked me in the face too! I have owned mine for over two years now, and I'm still not familiar enough with it to fully trust it. There is always tinkering to do, electronics to fix or software to try. It does produce great results though. But I generally have to spen...

Re: Why are all the VFD-required spindles 220v?

I don't know either, but ~220V is the most used mains voltage worldwide by a large margin. http://www.worldstandards.eu/electricit ... y-country/
So I would be more surprised if it was the opposite ;)

Re: bCNC problems sending code

Onekk: Yes I posted it on github earlier this evening. And I got it working now :) twforeman: I installed it correctly, it's a copy paste operation so no chance of me messing that up:p Turns out it was a Xorg problem after all. see https://github.com/vlachoudis/bCNC/issues/250 I ran this behemoth of...

Re: bCNC problems sending code

I tried to run it with steppers not powered now, just the usb powering the arduino. Same problem! Tried with a laptop I have with a fresh install of the latest linux Mint, same problem! So now this is 100% repeatable with different PC's using different hardware, and with both Ubuntu LTS and Mint (fr...

Re: Wood Gear Clocks

Size depends on the size of the gears you want to make. The radius of the inside corners you need to cut will determine how thick of a cutter you can use. Only you can answer how small those corner radius needs to be. But I am guessing a few bits in the 1-3mm range will get you far. For a general cu...

Re: bCNC problems sending code

The online thing is a deal breaker with Chillipepper for me too. And yes I know you can do zyx to make it offline, but that is too inconvenient. And also the grbl work space is not actively supported, so you loose a lot of the super cool functionality that the tinyg one has. Combined this makes Chil...

Re: bCNC problems sending code

Yes I have tried several g-code senders. They all work. But none of them has all the functionality I am looking for (chilipeppr and bCNC are the two most promising, but I have some different issues with both). I've run Universal g code sender for several years with the same PC setup. I don't think st...

Re: Chilipeppr Auto-level Problem !??

Yes, I also used this workspace for autoleveling. But this one does not have the newest eagle PCB import and g code functions found in the xpix workspace. It's very unfortunate that the /grbl workspace is not being maintained like the /tinyg one. Most of the solutions is already out there. But you n...

Re: bCNC problems sending code

I installed a new graphics card and tried both the open source and the proprietary drivers. And I installed Linux Mint and tested with that too (which is basically ubuntu, so probably no different..). Nothing helped. Sometimes the error causes my computer to crash and freeze completely and I have to...
