Upgraded to 9mm wide belts

Hey guys, its been a while since I've posted anything so I figured I would share this with you guys. I had a belt on my machine start to fray out on the edge a little bit, so I figured it was time to change out the belt just to make sure nothing could go wrong. In reality the belt was probably fine,...

Re: V wheels on the Z axis rocking left and right?

You should be able to tighten up the V-wheels so that the Z-axis doesn't shift and moves only vertically, w/in the limitations of the plastic the wheels are made of and the bolts (which while short, stiff and fairly rigid aren't completely unyielding). Please try adjusting them again to tighten thi...

V wheels on the Z axis rocking left and right?

Im sure this has been brought up before, I did a search and didnt find much. My wheels on my z axis rock left and right parallel to the x axis. I have checked to see that they where properly tightened but I still seems to get about .3-.5mm of play. Is there anyway to combat this? Heres a little vide...

Re: Power consumption? Is my 15 amp breaker enough?

I was running pretty close to the same setup at my house in California. Running the spindle, steppers, computer, and shop vac would eventually overheat and trip the 15 amp breaker. I used to have to run a cord into the house for the shop vac to keep everything running. Now I have a 20 amp breaker a...

Re: Power consumption? Is my 15 amp breaker enough?

Another note, My current vac is 5 amps, and I currently run all of that on the same 15 amp breaker and I notice that my router drops speed ever so slightly when I have both running. [Edit: I have also been milling some pretty hefty woods like purpleheart pretty aggressively with no issues with every...

Re: Power consumption? Is my 15 amp breaker enough?

I may just end up running a shorter extension cord from another room for now. I probably should run some thicker wire and get a bigger breaker at some point for the workshop, as I plan to add more tools to the arsenal.

Re: Random mid-job milling?

I would go through and make sure there are no other "lines" or "artifacts" (random lines or things in the SVG).

Power consumption? Is my 15 amp breaker enough?

I recently upgraded to a new shop vac that pulls a bit more power than my previous, and Im wondering if my 15 amp breaker is going to be enough. I have the dewalt dw660(5amps), the steppers(amps?), and the new shop vac which according to the spec sheet pulls(8.9amps). I also have my computer running...

Re: Cut the TOOL wrench out of aluminum.

For those who are curious, TOOL is a heavy metal band, and the (intentionally) rather phallic wrench is their logo. Considered editing the title of the post, but decided not. If anyone is offended or troubled, make a separate thread and we can work it out. Yes, if you guys feel its inappropriate I ...

Cut the TOOL wrench out of aluminum.

Hey guys, I haven't post anything in a while so I figured I would show you what I did today. I decided today I was going to cut out the TOOL wrench for my girlfriend as she is a big TOOL fan. I figured since its a pretty simple design I would just make my own DXF. I used Inventor to design it, and C...
