I agree.. It's safe to say that X-carve is, at best, basically a shapeoko clone at version 2.5.

The stock 1/4" collet that comes with the 611 seems to be good enough for most people. In my consideration process, I asked myself.. Do I want to spend for the S2 now and the drop more money on it so I can do more later? The S2 can cut soft wood easily and can do hard wood, soft metal very slowly and/or with some mods which will cost more anyways, or I can just get the S3 and jump ahe...
