Aspire-V Carve- Cambam Issues

Hi gang; I have been experimenting with different software which converts vector drawings (dxf or svg) into G Code for use on the Shapeoko using the stock Arduino and GRBL shield. I have primarily focused on Aspire, V carve, and Cambam, with Aspire and V carve being virtually the same. I am taking a...

Re: Custom 1/8" Collet for Makita RT0701C Trim Router

Hi gang; There are a number of 65mm aluminum spindle mounts available on Ebay ranging in price from $20 to $99-most from China: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2055119.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.X65mm+spindle+mount&_nkw=65mm+spindle+mount&_sacat=0&_from=R40 All would require some kind of adapter...

DW660 VS. Makita RTo701C

Hi Gang; I am fortunate enough to have both the Dewalt DW660 and the Makita RT0701C, so am able to make some head-to-head comparisons. It's really, in my mind, no contest- the Makita is far and above the better machine, even if it costs a bit more. The DW660 is loud and noisy and has no speed contro...

Re: Hello World Issues

Hi Guys; Update- we are up and running! Many thanks to all for suggestions and for info posted on forum. Biggest problem was reversed X and Z axis, forcing gantry to attempt to go where no man has gone before. I ran the Hello World file and wrote the Shapeoko2 image-amazing the noises that come from...

Hello World Issues

Hi Gang; I am new to the CNC world and just finished building a complete Shakeoko 2 package. At the same time I upgraded the Z axis and also added Nema 23 motors to replace the Nema 17. All has gone well-a couple of wiring errors during wire track consolidation. The machine currently responds to man...

Re: Router speed control circuit question

Mike;
Check the continuity between the output neutral of the speed controller and the input neutral. Probably a straight thru connection but not sure what type of control circuit is in use in the speed control. If zero ohms, try it live betfore you finalize wiring.

George

Arduino Access and Visibility

Hi Guys; About halfway thru putting the kit together-awaiting missing eccentric nuts. Is there any need to access the reset switch on the Gshield or need to view the shield and Arduino? Looking at the Gshield plugged into the Arduino withe USB connector toward the upper right, there are two sets of ...
