Re: Hard limits trigger when spindle turns on

It is most likley electrical noise. Connect a 0.1uf ceramic capacitor between each limit switch connection and a ground connection on the Arduino board, as close to the board as you can.

Re: False Limit Switch Triggering

I used one of your circuits with the Schmitt trigger IC, but not sure now of the other component values. I have long used just .1uf ceramic caps on my Mach3 setups, but wanted to try the Schmitt circuit on my S2 setup. Figured my cheap limit switches just might have too much contact bounce. Had to a...

Re: False Limit Switch Triggering

Thanks, I did not know that. I have the same on my Uno for my S2, using your published circuit, and I still had to add the capacitors.??? I am using home/limit switches on ends of each axis. Since that cured my issues, I did not investigate further.

Re: False Limit Switch Triggering

Add a 0.1uf ceramic capacitor between the limit switch inputs at the Arduino/? and ground. Might be all that is needed.

Re: For better or worse

I just installed one, and it works great, so far. Much easier to use, and safer, than my old way of just using a solid state relay wired to an outlet socket.

Re: GRBL current status

In GRBL 9i, Z limit is pin 12, not pin 11. Pin 11 is PWM output.

Re: backlash issue

Missing steps are not likely to go back and forth as your picture indicates. More likely a mechanical issue of some sort. Certainly does not look like a backlash issue either.

Re: Total CNC Noobie

My all out favorite CAD program is DraftSight (free at https://www.3ds.com/products-services/d ... -software/). Very close in design to AutoCAD, and for me is very comfortable to use.
