Re: Shapeoko 2 ACME Upgrade Preorder

I'm a satisfied customer. Tore down my rig and installed both the acme and Z-Axis upgrade as well as refit with 9mm belts and NEMA 23 motors. I'm still working on the electronics side since I'm going to a Chinese BOB and drivers but things are looking good so far. I look forward to getting everythin...

Re: 4 axis CNC machine parts for sale

Is there anyone that sells the rotary axis setup pictured without the chuck and either 1" 8TPI threads or a 5/8" straight shaft?

Re: Shapeoko 2 ACME Upgrade Preorder

Done and done. Looking forward to getting these in. Just hold the belt drive kit and ship all at once if that saves you some coin since one is a pre-req for the other.

Thanks for putting them together!

Re: Is there anybody out there?

Well that looks like all kinds of fun.

Sorry for the heavy handed post. I've just got the upgrade bug and the rare cash in hand to get it done. When you find out what you can do let me know.

Is there anybody out there?

I have a Shapeoko 2 and want to do some upgrading. I've emailed Improbable about the acme kit and the NEMA 23 belt drive kit but haven't received a response. Does anyone know if he plans to provide any more kits for the S2 or have we moved on to the S3?

Re: GT2 Belting / Gearing / 1" x 8TPI Spindle

The key for me is being able to transfer a turned piece from my lathe to the CNC machine and I have the option of 1" x 8 TPI threads or 1 1/4" x 8 TPI threads. Can you share a little more about the harmonic drive you have? I'm of course looking for something economical but if it can accommodate the ...

GT2 Belting / Gearing / 1" x 8TPI Spindle

I am trying to add a fourth axis to my Shapeoko 2. I have a number of four jaw chucks that I can transfer from my lathe to anything with a 1" x 8 TPI profile. My thought is to use: 2 5/8" Bearing UCF202-10 Flange mounted bearings http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002BB8Z9O/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding...

Re: Observation, Constructive Crit or Rant. Who knows?

Thanks for the response Edward. It doesn't seem odd at all. Personally, I need other eyes in my projects most of the time to help with prospective. I'm sure putting everything together at once isn't easy and I wish you the best of luck. I also know, as an engineer, it's a lot more fun to solve the b...

Observation, Constructive Crit or Rant. Who knows?

When I click on the "Order Now" link for the Shapeoko 3 at the top of this page or I go directly to http://www.shapeoko.com there's a distinct disjointed feeling between the current project and the S1 and S2. I get it, I'm excited to see the project move forward and new ideas excite me as much as th...

Re: Happy 35th Anniversary Jake and Elwood

Sorry, as an old NC State fan I figure everyone gets the Shackleford reference and use it fairly often. My wife thinks I'm stupid when I say it too. "Left hand, right hand, it doesn't matter. I'm amphibious." - Charles Shackleford But you may be on to something there. Waterproof ukes for singing in ...
