Re: Aluminum spindle mounts for Makita RT0701c

Got the Makita attached :D. Thank you criznach for posting the files to make the mounts, everything fit perfectly. Something I didn't anticipate, since the Makita is so much shorter than the DeWalt DW660, was the extra distance created between the collet and the spoilboard. When the Z axis is lowere...

Check out drillman1 on ebay. That's where I get 90% of my bits. Excellent quality and I haven't found anywhere that can beat his prices.

Re: Aluminum spindle mounts for Makita RT0701c

Did you remove the Z plate and use that as a drill template for the aluminum mounts? Did you use the Shapeoko to drill those also, or a drill press? One down, the other one is cutting right now. I added a flat opposite the clamp also. The edges on your parts look decidedly cleaner than mine. I think...

Re: Milling with cutting fluids on a wooden board

According to this post at CNCzone, WD-40 does not m...

Re: Can't get chilipeppr to connect to grbl

ah, it appears I am once again the dunce, please disregard. I had failed to zero the machine where I normally do, and wasn't seeing the travel limit error it was throwing. Everything works perfectly now.

Re: Can't get chilipeppr to connect to grbl

I have another problem now... I tried to run a file containing a G91 in the gcode streamer. When it gets to that line, it causes the machine to stop and the command turns pink to indicate an unknown command/error, and I have to give it a Ctrl+x. But typing G91 in the serial console seems to works fi...

Can't get chilipeppr to connect to grbl

coming back to this issue after several months of lamenting and just running UGS, which has worked, but I really want to try all the features chilipeppr has to offer. I got really excited after reading that Jarret's workspace could do autoleveling with grbl. But every time I try to load Chilipeppr, ...
