Re: Pl help in protecting our drawings/ designs with Shapeok

Git is designed for human-edited source code in text files. It's notoriously bad for storing binary files (your drawings) and machine-generated source code (your gcode). Github, as a popular git host, inherits these limitations. Ideally what you'd want is a version control system specifically geared...

Re: Z Zero for VCarving

When my daughter's mylar helium balloon died, I cut it into a bunch of small strips. It's thinner than paper, so slightly more accurate.

Re: Interested in binary logic problems/math --- Help?

Tried in a spreadsheet, and then my spreadsheet didn't have an XOR function, so I wrote a script. Your table is correct. for oldValue in 0...7 { for flags in [1, 2, 4, 3, 5, 6, 7] { print("\(oldValue ^ flags) ", separator: " ", terminator: "") } print("") } 1 2 4 3 5 6 7 0 3 5 2 4 7 6 3 0 6 1 7 4 5 ...

Re: Unipolar stepper motors

As long as you're sure there isn't any internal connection between the n/c wires, you should be able to use the other four with a bipolar stepper driver. Never tried it though, so YMMV.

Re: Reasonable expectation of flatness

Yeah, I've noticed some significant swelling from the piece of thick MDF I use as a spoilboard/mounting board. In the short term I'm probably going tram it, but eventually I would like to replace it with a material that won't warp or swell with changes in humidity, like HDPE.

If you have gcode commands that need to be executed on machine startup, you can use Grbl's $Nx command.

Yeah, ran into the same thing when first setting up my machine. Thought I'd bricked the board

Re: How speed up?

All of those other settings are given in mm, not steps, so you should not have to change them just to match your new steps/mm settings. Do you have a feed rate set in your GCode file? It's possible that's set really low. The machine would still move at full speed for G0 commands, though, so I'm not ...

Re: Universal gcode sender not connecting to grbl

Grbl 0.9 increased the baud rate to 115200. That is probably the only issue.
