Material Advice

Hey, I need a material that's easy to work with but strong enough not to flex or atleast rigid enough without the fragility of something like plexi. My thought is some sort of strong 1/8" thick wood. Im using aluminum now but it's just miserable (aluminum 5052). Doesnt have to be metal just strong e...

Re: URGENT ERROR - WILD LOOP!

Ok I have previewed my gcode and here's what it looks like.

Looks normal but NOPE it does a full circle then continue on its path at the first rounded section to the upper left side of the cut. It never does it again after the first pass.

So... not gcode/makercam? grbl mis-interpretation?

Re: URGENT ERROR - WILD LOOP!

I made a completely new design with a rounded circle. Makercam is throwing in random Gcode once upon the start. Very odd. Anyone have any idea of how we can fix this? Ford? let me know if I can help. In the mean time I'll have to start it a tad higher and go a tad deeper to avoid that first pass fail.

Re: URGENT ERROR - WILD LOOP!

Will, very helpful link.

Indeed, it sounds like bc my issues are happening when getting deeper and on my rounded edges, my X axis may have been too loose. Does this sound like it could cause my bit to catch and go onto a separate path?

The crazy loop is still unexplained.

Re: URGENT ERROR - WILD LOOP!

As for the deep suicide dive, i just cleaned the deck off cut the rest out with a dremel and removed my piece and saw that the two waste boards were splitting in half. The screws had become loose... I'm guessing that can c...

Re: URGENT ERROR - WILD LOOP!

Yes I'm very doubtful this is anything but a makercam Gcode issue.

Yea its always typically in the same place +/- a few mm's.

Yes, this has happened to me before but I have had symptom free cuts as well.
