Re: Plunging too deep ( newbie )

I usually miss a G20 (use inches) or G21 (use metric) at the top of the gcode when this happens to me. But it looks like you have a G21 already at the beginning of the file.

Re: Machine can't handle cutting

I am cutting so thin in the z direction that my router bits are barely leaving a mark on the wood. The quiet spindle is on max speed, my feed rate is 15 inches a minute, plunge rate is down to 8 inches a minute, and cut depth is .025 to .05inches This could be due to the z-axis steps per mm setting...

Re: Machine can't handle cutting

Yes, this is a shapeoko 2 cnc. Both of the nuts on the z axis were so bad the threaded rod looked bent when i put it together. I followed the instructions to try different positions to balance them out, but they were just so bad it couldn't be done. I bought new nuts, but they were wider so I could...

Re: Machine can't handle cutting

Keep in mind that customer service at Inventables are super helpful and friendly. If you have a problem with a part contact them and describe the problem. I've got help that way when I was stuck when I thought it was the parts, emailed them, got it sorted out, continued with my build and didn't have...

Re: Machine can't handle cutting

The Z axis wobbling I have experienced. I thought it was due to the screw rod being bent, but when rolled on a flat surface it was clear the rod is not wobbling, hence straight. It was due to the flange bearing not centered enough in the circle. To set it up correctly, loosen the 2 nuts that sandwic...

Hey, this looks decent to me. You got to start somewhere :)

Re: HELP! Stepper motors wont move... Frustrated beginner.

Also vibrations and noise from the Stepper motors can indicate loose wire connections from the stepper drivers. If one wire is not connected to the stepper motor, it will do that.

Whoops, I see you already connected with Arduino using UGS.

Re: Inkscape and CAM programs

I use Inkscape, set the document properties measurement to what you like. I use mm as I can't figure out inch fractions ...) and select page size. Oddly enough I choose US Letter size here and landscape orientation because I'm familiar with that size. I draw in InkScape, save it in SVG as the native...

Hi Will,

This got my attention ... do you have a thread elaborating this?

Thanks, Caesar.
