I am slowly and painfully doing the z axis plate upgrade and fixing all the wheel shim as well . I think it's going be worth it at the end.

I am setting up a comparison experiment comparing nitto tape vs wood tape on workpiece adhesion on mdf spoil board. I am will be cutting two rectangle on 1/4 inch plastic using a upcut single flute quarter inch bit. I want to see whether nitto tape or wood tape works better. There are no holding tab...

Neppo, when you drill the steel Z plate do you also tap it ? or you just tap the aluminum support ?

The way I see it you have two issues with fly cutters on the Shapeoko: 1. Finding one with a 1/4 shank - probably the hardest part. 2. The spindle doesn't run slow enough. For wood you can get away with going fast, but with a fly cutter and cutting metal you want to run pretty low rpm (compared to ...
