Re: Gotham City Police Picture

That is impressive, thanks for sharing. I always wondered how long something like this would take to run. Sounds like the laser is similar to 3D printing in how long a larger more intricate print would take.

Re: Dust Shoe and Design Files For Sale

I purchased one of these from atrueresistance and it works perfectly. So nice to not have dust everywhere and the diverter for the router works great.

Re: Materials

Thanks Jim. The ability to feed through larger stock through the machine and the 700x500x200Z work area is what's making me think of moving to this size from the start. Most of my stock is large and I would like to do bigger items. If I was doing small I would just get a K40 and be done with it. Rea...

Re: Materials

X700 huh. Really jealous now. It's a nice machine from what I have looked at. Plenty of members on the Facebook group have them. I think you will get lots of help that group. 50W laser for $2300? Wow. Yea the price is pretty amazing. I've been selling off other things like my 3D Printing equipment,...

Re: Narrative / path for new users?

Ok so I rescind part of my previous statement but I'll let it stand as it adds further confusion. If I go to Shapeoko.com and click forum I get this one. But if I go to Carbide3d.com to purchase and click on forum I get theirs. They are only posting support answers on their forum now. Maybe even som...

Re: Narrative / path for new users?

I am not familiar with how the Shapeoko 1 and 2 worked but I can explain my experience with the S3 and what may be causing confusion. The S3 is being marketed under Carbide as a full blown consumer ready product according to their website and info. Buy this and cut all these cool things. I feel the ...

Re: Materials

If you can afford it, go bigger on the laser. They are much better made. If you can sell a few signs, that will help pay for it. Thanks for the tip. I am debating the Redsail X700 just trying to figure out the customs/shipping logistics. The CCL thread with your posts has been very helpful. Have yo...

Re: Materials

Ha, thanks. Read through the CCL thread again and joined the Facebook users group. I'm about ready to pull the trigger on one, just trying to decide whether I get K40 or go with a bigger machine to start. If anyone has a Macy's closing near you it's definitely worth the trip over. Went back again ye...

Re: downcut on plywood = fuzz

If DRobs86 suggestions don't work here's another two things to try. I've found that all the birch ply I use is not created equal and I have more difficulty with the two big box stores than the cabinet shop and lumberyard I can get it at. Option #1 and I'm sure you don't want to hear this is to look ...

Re: eshapeoko setup help

I agree with you to a point as we have all been there. Reading through the manual and get it put together but then what's next. How do I hook up to the machine, how fast do I go, how deep do I cut, etc. Other than the forum Carbide has not put any effort into what's next at this point. What you can'...
