Re: Expansion packs announced

I imagine that your right. What would be great is for Edward or Carbide to simply give all of us who paid for an SO3 a quick explanation of why the sizes were chosen, if they plan on larger (or this new extrusion wasn't as rigid as they thought) and what the deal is with extrusion. That would take a...

Re: Expansion packs announced

I'm not trying to stir the pot anymore I'm just saying that somewhere along the line of the "open source" discussion it changed and everyone was not notified. I remember long before getting my machine there was a long discussion thread about it where there was a conversation bounced back and forth a...

Re: Expansion packs announced

^This. I bought into the Shapeoko because of the promise of open source. If the main component will not be available to even purchase then I'm not quite sure how it can be called an open source machine. If it was closed source I would have no problem with them not selling the extrusion by itself and...

Re: Expansion packs announced

Those drag chains can get expensive quick and two per kit adds some money.

Since neither of the expansion sizes they determined will work for me I guess I'm still waiting to see if the extrusion is ever going to be available on its own or if the S3 gets sold off for something else. :(
