Shielding wires

This has come up in a few places and it seems there are two camps. Shield or Don't Need to Shield. This questions is for the pro Shield-ers since I am planning to shield mine right from the get go vs discovering it might be a problem later and retrofit. No harm in Shielding other than to my wallet a...

Re: GT2 pulley, 20 tooth (part # S3023) are a tight fit!

I back out the set screw, for the tight ones I cover with a random wide strip of rubber to protect them and use a pair of pliers with just enough grip to hold - then pull. Most of the time, they slide off with finger pressure and a light tug. I've tried swearing at them but it doesn't work.

Re: Frustrating start on building unit

I looked at the nifty interactive part assembly thing that was created for the S02 (I think) and that would probably be enormously helpful for the SO3. Do you make that Will? I've read and re-read the instructions to pass the time until I get mine and some parts of it are not exactly clear to the po...

Re: Hall effect sensors

how many wires/connections coming off the board? 2 or 3? typically with a Hall switch there are 3: VCC, Signal and GND. I have seen one set up that had 4 though. Voltage req/max? 3.3v or 5v? nice video and set up by the way. You sell them as a kit to solder with all the parts/instructions or only as...

Re: Sizzling noise from one SO3 stepper

Is this 17/23 switch on the Carbide Motion board or on the actual motor? The post says "on the motor" and that seems odd to me.

Re: Shapeoko 3 - Assembly Instructions (preliminary)

To pass the time I've been reading and reading the instructions and I too am missing page 19 from the instructions provided by the link at top here.

Any update to the file with page 19.

Re: Waste Board Dimensions

I sense Lord Vader's Tie fighter lurking in this pattern.
The force is strong with this one.

Is this meant to be milled by the machine?

Re: Wiki hierarchy

Thanks. I signed up for GRZ Software's Free Crash course in CNC and its very helpful. Come's from a total novice POV. Just what I needed. While GRZ is a separate thing from Carbide3D/Shapeoko, the same guy is part of both companies. Extremely helpful and responsive.

Re: Wiki hierarchy

As a complete novice who has never done cnc milling or built a shapeoko it would be enormously helpful to me to have some sort of Quick Start guide and/or check list. I know there are many variations of what can be done in terms of software and hardware but there has to be something that gives simpl...
