Re: Inkscape union of objects issue

Xaracen, yes they did but you explained what I could not. I still don't understand HOW those rectangles were created. I could not ungroup them, so did they have a "Path ==> Merge" function applied that prevents them from being ungrouped?

Re: Inkscape union of objects issue

Okay, I have only been using inkscape for a couple of weeks, but I have to ask - how are you making the rectangles? Because when I opened your file, your rectangle lines were weird double lines. When I make a rectangle, I usually set the line width to 0.005in. That is a big issue there. Ignoring how...

Re: Aztec Glyphs

I'm gonna do something simlar to your arrowhead project. I retired a couple of years ago, at 49  , lol, after working 30+ years for the Dept. of Corrections, and no, I wasn't a guard, I was in admin. Well, after 10 years they gave you a bronze pin in the shape of the state of Missouri and th...

Re: ESD Causing A Reboot?

Thanks for the info. I have been working on finishing my dust shoe (amongst other projects) so hopefully in another day or so I won't have this issue to worry about.

ESD Causing A Reboot?

So, last week in the middle of a project, my SO3 froze, lost connection with the Carbide software (software window displayed the "click to connect" text) and just - stopped. I was vacuuming up the debris, so I thought I might have hit the USB cable and accidentally disconnected it momentarily. Last ...

Re: Where do you put your ShapeOko3 power supply?

I bought this laptop/monitor stand and clamped it to the edge of my workbench. I set it so the power supply is held vertically between it and the wall. I thought I'd use the monitor part to hold the mousepad, but I just use the wireless mouse on whatever flat surface I can find - benchtop, wall, scr...

Re: Made A Four Player Cribbage Board

If we're voting, I like the threaded end...pretty cool, nice little project! Thanks, I like the threaded brass cap too. After mulling it over for a bit, I think I am going to get some of the hidden barrel hinges and make the board twice as thick so I can cut a pocket for the cards and pegs. Use som...

Made A Four Player Cribbage Board

I designed it in Inkscape and created the G-Code in makercam.com and made a couple of them today. I think they came out quite nice. I ordered a set of four different cribbage pegs to go with it, and I am trying to decide if I want to route out the back for the storage or just keep the pegs in a velv...

Re: SO3, Super-PID's and "plastics"

I have a SuperPID on my Dewalt DW611. I have cut cast acrylic and King Starboard branded HDPE. ** Disclaimer ** This is all new to me, so I am telling you what I have done, not whether it is correct. I have cut cast acrylic using single flute 0.063 and 0.125 carbide bits (maybe a 0.25 single flute b...

Re: Bit Life: How long should a cutting bit last

I just bought a 5 pack of these from him. Why were they breaking? I picked them up because of the length, most that I have found in the size cut so shallow... I bought $200 of endmills from him, supposed to be here tomorrow! I picked up some 1/16", 3/32", 1/32", v bit assortment, and some 1 MM that...
