Re: Anyone using a 3D mouse?

I'd love to have one but I'm not shelling out $150 plus for one. I suppose if I've been using CAD for nearly 30 years with a standard mouse I can continue for a few more years, anyway.

Re: 3D model of Shapeoko 3

Making slow progress on this thing. I have a lot more of the fasteners installed. There are a few things that I cannot find though. Also, doing my best on the electronic shroud. I'm actually taking measurements from the PDF in Inkscape. I've gotten things very close but it won't be perfect. It's har...

Re: Branded!

That's really neat. My son has wanted me to make one for him for his leather craft stuff. I was thinking I needed to make it out of brass. Perhaps aluminum is the way to go. I have a bunch of that material.

Re: VCarve Pro 8 + SO3

I'd suggest watching a few of their tutorial videos. I watched a few at first and I was up to speed in a day or two.

Re: VCarve Pro 8 + SO3

I have Vcarve Desktop 8 with my SO3. It's great software and worth the money. Makes better sense than MeshCAM. I also use HSM Express/Fusion 360 which is free. You still need a gcode sender. I prefer grbl panel.

Re: 3D model of Shapeoko 3

That looks really great !!! What I have to do, to get this model ? Do you really want the model as I have it now? It's unfinished. I don't have much of any hardware. The v-wheels are incorrect too. 3D Files (STEP, IGES, Parasolid) https://www.dropbox.com/s/olvxxuuyz98yxx5/Shapeoko3_Master_Assy_v0.1...

Re: 3D model of Shapeoko 3

I've gotten a jump on some of the basic components but I'm no where near finished with it. Some stuff I modeled myself, others I've collected here on the forums. I suppose it would be much simpler if Edward would just STEP out his main assembly for us but I understand if he doesn't want to do that.

Re: What should I look for in a computer to run SO 3?

I use a $120 winbook, 8" tablet with windows 8.1 to run my SO3. Works flawlessly. I do my CAD/CAM work on a separate win7 laptop not connected to the SO3. I transfer gcode files to my winbook via ssh (running on my linux server).
