Re: DW611 Dust shoes

Just a heads up, I have a Craftsman wall mount vac with remote that uses a 1 7/8" hose...as described by Craftsman anyway. These Craftsman hose are a direct fit into the shoe, nice and snug but a perfect fit

Re: Gecko G540 powered SO3 #474 with XL kit

Been doing a lot of cutting with very few problems, solving them as I go. These are all 1/8" G-10 http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/k545/gomachv/7B011B98-0DA0-435C-A4A2-3321B6FC1033_zpscwty0ydy.jpg Had a friend need some engraving done. I drew the letters by hand in autocad. I don't have any woodw...

Re: Gecko G540 powered SO3 #474 with XL kit

Slight update, been busy and sick but finally got it mostly tuned and adjusted. I have made a few cuts and everything seems decent. It's a whole lot more work to tighten belts and rollers coming from a maintenance free ballscrew drive linear slide unit. I feel like I gained a lot of speed but I'm no...

Gecko G540 powered SO3 #474 with XL kit

This has taken me quite a while to finally build and set up. I have a cheapo Chinese machine that has been working fine so I wasn't in a hurry. Long story short, it's just about ready to rock and roll. Settings have proven to be nothing short of impossible to find, and the setting I did find were no...

Re: Expanding S03 to XL

My standard machine was #474 and was pre drilled for the side mount control, not sure when they started drilling them tho. I also found that my XL stepper extensions were very odd lengths. Not sure if you've experienced this.

Re: Shapeoko 3 Probe & Limit Switch Kit

Unfortunately since I'm not using the stock controller I don't have those measurements but since the controller is now on the left side....they are all waaaaay too short. I'll see if I can get a tape measure on it in the next couple days. I just extended it with some bulk cable so I didn't measure it

Re: Z-Axis slipping w/ new SO3 Z-carriage (please help)

I have the new Z plate and it was Unassembled as mine was a conversion. I will say that mine feels heavily sprung until the router is in place at which time it feels a lot more neutral. It sits down maybe 1/4" from the top stops and is very smooth and progressively gets harder push as it travels low...

Re: Shapeoko 3 Probe & Limit Switch Kit

Finally got around to installing your switch kit, it is amazing! I don't see any loss of travel and there was nothing to shift, file, adjust or tweak. Very very nicely made I ended up with an XL conversion so the wiring wouldn't work for me but of course that wasn't what i originally purchased it to...

Re: My SO3 is going through some changes

I just broke down and built my early SO3 today. Number 474. I used the XL expansion pack as well. I will tell you, your in for a ride if you haven't built one and take on kitbashing them. Since yours is already up and going it shouldn't be bad at all. i can't comment on the rigidity of the stock kit...

Re: Where to get this shim?

Any specific type of washer? On RC cars we use 5mm fiber washers a lot as bearing spacers, Part number is 1985
5mm X 8mm X 0.5mm ptfe coated teflon washers

eBay or local hobby shop are easiest sources
