Re: I see all complain ?.

Mine is still boxed up. I'm taking the rabbit hole method. Gecko G540, superpid, wide belts, and limit switches. I was hoping to buy the expansion but it seems like that may take many more months to develop? Until I get my controller assembled and expansions are available I see no reason to build th...

Re: Cutting Size & Carbide Create

Subtract the diameter of your cutter? To cut a 1" square with a 1/8 bit, the movement of the router would be 1 1/8" (my math may be wrong it might be 1 1/4") Hope that makes sense. Not sure if that is the issue, but make sure it's part of your math

Re: Fasten or attach

I only cut g10. I use a mdf waste board and double side tape my material down. My first cuts are just the holes, then I place screws thru into the waste board on opposite corners of my pieces. Then I cut my cutouts and outlines last. The tape gives you a little buffer so you don't need to cut into t...

Re: G10 Fiberglass or Carbon Fiber Sheets

McMaster Carr is good for g10 and cheap on shipping. When your ready to buy bigger quantities I like eplastics. The material is cheap when you buy 10+ but shipping is a bit crazy. Still cheaper than McMaster tho and I like the material better If it matters, McMaster had black blue and natural, eplas...

Re: How to position a pre-made panel to accept holes?

Hi Ok I guess I'm missing something here...how do you get the zero point for the mill so that it cuts in the right place?? to make it repeatable you will pretty much require a homing system, a few people on here are making limit switch kits that will save you the time and effort. The first cut will...

Ok gotcha Edward, and thank you for the reply. I guess I was misunderstanding how the power was distributed. Makes more sense now

Power supply confusions

I have a Shapeoko 3 in the box waiting on me to finish my controller. I have purchased the superpid and a g540 but I'm running into confusion on the steppers. Our factory power brick is 24v but according to the specs the steppers we use are fine at 48v. Is there any reason to stick with 24v? I want ...

Re: Shapeoko 3 Probe & Limit Switch Kit

I just received my kit today and it looks fantastic! Unfortunately it will be quite a while before I set up my machine but at least I have it ready now! Very professional and quick shipping.

Re: Shapeoko 3 - Expansion Packs

My personal preference is to lengthen just one axis- and I'm not picky. The material I cut is usually 12x24, up to 16x36. I was hoping to buy just the needed extrusion and do the rest myself. Sounds like I might be quite limited by the price tho:-(
