Re: Cut Quality Test Results - Input Appreciated

I see a lot of people raise the concern of down cuts packing swarf into the cut and suggest that this may require shallower cuts. I've tested a 3.175mm downcut at 6.0mm cut depth at 1000mm/m on 12mm birch plywood with no issues. I do have a vacuum attached dust shoe that pulls swarf out of the cut, ...

Re: Cut Quality Test Results - Input Appreciated

I will throw another vote in for the downcut. Like you, I spend a lot of time cleaning things up before they looked perfect. With a downcut they come off the mill close to perfect.

EDIT:

Re: Multiple destroyed limit switches.

Sounds so nad, that I don't think any switch can be that bad! Stepper motors are electrically very noisy. Unshielded cables on switches and motors might give similar symptoms. Take a look with an oscilloscope if you have one. It seems too bizzare to be the case, doesn't it? That's why I posted it h...

I wired them NO and plugged them into my protoneer shield. (I tested each switch for continuity when triggered...

Re: Problem with ramps and lead in Fusion.

I am curious what your ramp feed, speed, and material being cut is. Be sure that your ramp is slower than your normal cutting feedrate for a given material. The bottom of the endmill is engaged to some extent in a ramp. In some materials this may mean chattering. Are these profile ramps or helical p...

Re: Fusion 360 dxf export

When i generate a dxf in f360, i always create a specific sketch of only the lines i want. Edit: i do this by simply clicking the profiles or faces. Hmmm. You are probably onto something. I have been copying and pasting then removing conatruction lines. Are you juat selecting the profile and projec...
