Re: Pulley screw question

Someone mentioned replacing the setscrews with I believe an M3 cap-screw, That takes a slightly larger Allen wrench and can be made much tighter! There should be some M3 cap-screws on the Z axis motor mount, and the X and Y motor mounts, You could temporarily borrow one of those and do a fit check. ...

Re: NEMA 23 motor selection?

Thanks @cvoinescu: I've been using a spring loaded punch, but it didn't occur to me to enhance the dimple created by using another punch like you indicated, and give it one or more whack's with a hammer. My real problem is not being able to draw a line through the exact center of existing holes (sin...

Re: NEMA 23 motor selection?

There are metal wheels out there, Bart Dring has 112 left at $ 9.85 ... rated at 150 kg. http://store.makerslide.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=75 They are also smaller in diameter then the plastic Delrin V Wheels. The caveat is that without hard-coating the makerslide it w...

Re: Wiring question

@d-briggs I can see by the big red "Stop" switch you probably got the ShapeOko "Full Kit", welcome to ShapeOko Land ... If the AC wall adapter has a DC voltage rating of no more than 7 to 9 volts then the silver barrel plug can be connected to the Arduino. While the Arduino is normally powered from ...

Re: AtomCNC Future

@Will Winder
Are you talking about swapping the A & A Bar with the B & B Bar; or are you talking about just swapping the A & A Bar wires (or the B and B Bar) ?

BTW, you're new Universal Gcode sender, is making things a lot easier :D

Re: AtomCNC Future

Hi @AtomSoft I have a 50mm fan on order from eBay, should arrive by end of week. I also have a unused 5-1/4" drive bay cooler that has 2x 40mm (or smaller) fans mounted. I'm thinking I can use that temporary, put the 2 fans in series and they will take the 24 volts. P.S. the new controller stuff loo...

Re: What's the difference between these insertion nuts?

Bart Dring had a posting (a long time ago) about insertion nuts that could be added after the ends of the makerslide are blocked, as in blocked with Motor Plates / End Plates on both ends. I think the insertion nuts he showed look very much like the HNTT5-5 I think they can be turned on their side a...

Re: Universal G-Code Sender - v1.0.3 released

@ Will Winder » Thanks for the new release, the manual "jog" capability is awesome! And just in time for debugging some problems. Just an Idea for some mods, once you jog your axis to the desired location one might want to do a G92 X0 Y0 Z0. It would be nice to have a clear button to reset the "Manu...
