Re: S3 stops mid-job

I've sent the email to support and look forward to the response. What little bit I've been able to use my Shapeoko 3 for (less than 1 hour of cutting) has been wonderful but if you tally all of the disconnection issues, it quickly has become something I'd rather just put a tarp over and no longer us...

Re: S3 stops mid-job

To be honest, the further I visit this forum thread and the hassles I deal with on my machine, I'm really starting to consider this more of a "toy" than the X-carve. Months of having the machine work and then all of a sudden not and then magically does is getting extremely old.

Sparkfun controller

So aside from the obvious changes (no quick connect headers), color, form factor, what are the differences between the Sparkfun controller and the one you guys are shipping?

Re: Solving USB disconnection problem with bluetooth

Old school RS-232 for the win! Since switching... no more problems... I'd love to know more about this. The entire USB revolution is getting ridiculous. I call BS on the "cost" factor because if you can afford to drop $1k on a CNC then you can also afford a $20 PCIE card for your desktop or notebook.

Re: Shapeoko 3 - 4' x 4' - Prototype #1

I too echo what many have concerns with space limitations and being able to expand in either X or Y only rather than a complete 4x4 area. For most, being able to cut 2x4, effectively 1/4 sheet of plywood is going to be satisfy a large majority of ones looking for expansion over the original S3. Bein...

Pried that stupid collar off; no ferrite, just a stupid theft tag:

Re: Recommended Ferrite Ring for SO3 Routers

Have you tried putting the router on a different circuit than the control board? It was a quick fix for me although I'm still going to get ferrite rings for everything (Amazon has tons for a few bucks each)

Re: S3 stops mid-job

It looks like Amazon has ferrite snap-ons for a few bucks each. I might just get one and put it on there anyway. I did successfully cut with the router on a separate circuit without issue even with the wires all being piled atop another as before. I really dislike the whole double insulated loophole...

Re: S3 stops mid-job

5" circle pocket 1.0" depth 0.125" bit, 0.1" per pass 75ipm. Total faux cut time was 52 minutes. I left the router in so basically the only difference was any additional torque created by cutting. It completed successfully and I was able to jog the machine afterwards without issue. I noticed the rou...

Re: S3 stops mid-job

I'll give the long air job a try. If that succeeds, I'm going to twist my router around so it's power is fed from a different direction than the power for the electronics.

I don't have a scope to test anything, just a multimeter.
