Re: Disconnect Issues and the Sparkfun Controller

The solution I found for the issue was to use a power strip from Lowes or Home Depot or wherever. I plug both the router and the dust collection system into it. The power bar switch turns both on and off at the same time. I don't have disconnect issues anymore and save a step turning the vacuum on a...

Re: Tapmatic and Vortec Cold Air Gun

I found out the hard way about cfm years ago. Bought a top of the line French hvlp gun only to find that after 5 minutes spraying all I got was a sputter. Huge point DanMc I've started researching compressors and found the cost leaps when going from approx. 5 cfm VS 8 or higher CFM. I think the sal...

Re: Tapmatic and Vortec Cold Air Gun

The cold air guns look like an hour with a lathe ...... I googled cold air gun and saw somewhere a guy made something from trash and hooked it up to his compressor. Fast air pushes the chips out of the way and keeps bit temps down...a little is better than none. I'm not sure about the tapmatic dry ...

It shou...

Re: VCarve 8 tool pathing

I'd recommend posting the question on the Vectric forum. I would but I believe the majority of the users have machines that are quite a bit beefier than what us hobbyist's are using. And probabaly using a continuous flow of high grade lube. I thought I would try here and fish for someone with a SO3...

VCarve 8 tool pathing

This question is for those that are using VCarve Desktop or Pro 8 (I started using 8 so don't know older versions). This is in regard to the Rough Machine Toolpath I am cutting aluminum without lubrication and found when roughing out the part I get good router performance with the roughing strategy ...

Re: Want it in red? Shapeoko 3 available from Sparkfun

Wonder if their board has the same disconnection issues? I might get one if it doesn't. I personally think it's a on/off switch issue with the Dewalt. I plugged the Dewalt into a power switch and use it's on/off switch to turn the router on and the vacuum on and off at the same time. I don't loose ...
