Re: Official SO3 Hello World
I have now combined the original Hello World g-code and the additional g-code that just has the hatched version of the logo. This was done using the same process as before: G-Code Ripper across the XY Plane (making sure to NOT export the rapid movements), brought both of these rip's in as DXF import...

Re: Official SO3 Hello World
As part of the custom wasteboard implementation I'm working on, I went looking for the SO3 shapeoko logo graphic (as drawn in the Hello World g-code file). As I couldn't find such anywhere, I figured out how to pull out the X/Y plane of the g-code using a "G-Code Ripper" from the http://scorchworks....

@Frank
Did you, by any chance, try using Inventable's Easel software on your SO3? People have seen problems with Easel overwriting the default SO3 settings with values conducive to SO2's and/or X-Carves.

Re: Shapeoko 3 - Z- Axis Help Guide
Looks like I was in the too big belt shipment phase.... ...the belt is still over an inch too long. It might be the case that you have a bad belt, but I believe the difference in length between the "bad" belt and the correct one was about 4mm. In fact, the correct belt is marked with a "520" in the...

Re: Waste Board Dimensions
Thanks, Will. Are you using the twforeman limit switch setup or something custom that gives you those constraints?

I would have a look at this Knowledge Base article on validating your controller configuration. It provides details on how to check if any of the defaults have been modified:

Re: Waste Board Dimensions
The X axis measurements were accurate. The Y axis window is closer to 14 7/8", with about 2 5/8" of travel in front of the wasteboard. Excellent! So, is that 14 7/8" including the 2 5/8" travel available beyond the front of the wasteboard? Or would that be a total workable Y envelope of 14 7/8" on ...

Re: Waste Board Dimensions
Thanks! This is exactly the kind of info I was hoping for. I'll be able to easily translate this information into the drawing. Very much appreciated.CastIrony wrote:I'll make some more accurate measurements when I get home tonight.

Re: Waste Board Dimensions
I'm wondering if Chris (RawIndDesign), Edward, or someone else who has their SO3 in-hand and running could take either Edward's original wasteboard design file OR Chris' PDF/DXF file (for the alum version) and add a rectangle (and maybe dimensional call outs?) to the drawing clearly marking the abso...

Re: 2D CAD Tool Poll
Currently using a mix of things...some Vectric 2D products, but primarly CorelDRAW Suite (x6 - haven't upgraded to x7). I've used CorelDRAW for years to create highly-technical and accurate parts on my Epilog Legend laser and find those same skills and features translate readily to doing designs for...
