Re: SO3 Z-axis spring alternative

Hey All, Classic case of fixing the problem and not closing the loop. Summary: 1.) The combined strength of the two springs was slightly greater than the weight of z-axis assembly. 2.) Like all things manufactured, there is a tolerance on the springs +/-10% 3.) A certain amount of springs must have ...

Re: X-Carve Videos On Youtube - Same for Shapeoko 3?

@krtwood and @LTEPM That's basically exactly what happened. I didn't want to send review machines out to anyone before pre-orders were fulfilled. My intent was honest but the execution was flawed and communication was lacking from my side. When I talked to @krtwood in June I was thinking we would be...

Re: Carbide Motion schematic?

There is a fully annotated image of the board with all of the pins / features pointed out. It's been posted for quite a while: http://docs.carbide3d.com/article/21-what-should-the-dip-switches-be-set-to-on-my-shapeoko3-controller-board - see the bottom for a link to the high res PDF. As for as open ...

Re: Shapeoko 3 - Expansion Packs

The 'expansion pack' project is deceiving in it's simplicity. I think that what ends up being released is going to be a shocker for anyone who's been following along.

On a related note - I started a build log of the 4x4 machine: http://www.shapeoko.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6949

Shapeoko 3 - 4' x 4' - Prototype #1

There are still a number of parts missing - but the frame, rail, and carriage system were all present and accounted for, so I figured it was time to start building! I put the frame together on the floor - I couldn't imagine putting the whole machine together on the floor - so I built a table from on...

Re: Shapeoko 3 - Expansion Packs

Hey all - sorry for the spotty feedback on this thread. The expansion packs are important to us too. We've been working hard on fulfilling the backorder, and getting the supply chain stuff in line so we can get in stock and stay there. Once that happens, everything gets a little easier here. I've be...

Re: Carbide Create

Where can we get the Carbide Create software and license if we bought the shapeoko before it being release ? Thank you. Right now we're doing a private beta of the software while we continue development. To participate in the beta, or to sign up for updates, goto the shapeoko.com homepage and sign ...

Re: Carbide Create

"Every machine ships with a license of Carbide Create." All Shapeoko 3 and Nomad883 machines that sell after the software is released will receive a license of Carbide Create. Also everyone who bought a Shapeoko 3 or Nomad883 before the software was released will also receive a license of Carbide C...

Re: Carbide Create

I'm sort of surprised that it took more than a day for the first CC post to show up in the forum! I've been waiting :-) To answer your question: Right now, no. We don't have any of the import features implemented. Although file importing is on the feature to-do list, we're working through implementi...
