Re: Software on Mac (CAM/GcodeSender)

Hi Nio, Have you tried google sketchup + the phaltscripts extension for a CAD/CAM solution? Regarding sending: there is a python file that comes with grbl which allows you to stream via CLI. Otherwise, I know at one time one of the other forum members was developing a cross platform front end. You m...

Re: Things I miss about the old Google groups

I've been able to attach images to messages by using the "upload attachment" tab found below the message composer. Does that work for anyone else?

Re: Any chance to buy ShapeOko somewhere else?

The dxf files for all of the custom parts are currently being updated.

Yesterday I posted a new BoM (Bill of Materials) on the downloads page of the website and haven't gotten around to posting the DXF files. Look for them later today.

Re: Things I miss about the old Google groups

I think there are things I could do to tell the crawlers what content to target and what not to, but the site is full of relevant data, so going through the HTML markup hassle doesn't seem worth it. I'm assuming in a few days all we'll see are CNC ads. There is a lot of good adsense information on t...

Re: Things I miss about the old Google groups

Thanks for the support Tom. - I don't mind ads either. CNCzone is flooded with ads. After a while you don't even notice them. And sometimes you do if they're interesting to you. Seems like a win win to me. - Regarding not seeing the ads, that might be a cache issue that will resolve itself with time...

Re: Things I miss about the old Google groups

Good information Tom! - Would anyone be interested in turning on RSS? It's not something I use, but if others do, then we can enable it. - Also, I bumped the instance size up a notch, so the "slow" times should be less slow than before. If it continues to be a problem I'll bump it up again. - You ma...

Re: Things I miss about the old Google groups

I'm missing the same feature set! My hope is that the convenience of searching and posting inline pictures, along with some organization of topics will ultimately make up for some of the shortcomings! There are about 1,000,000 MODs for the forum, which I'm sure a couple of which are actually useful....

Re: Stepper driver and Stepper shield

@CptanPanic: I can verify that claim as well. Both Ril3y and Alden have told me there are no reports of blown grblShield drivers. I have given up on the "grblshield doesn't have replaceable drivers" argument. the TI drivers are rock solid and if used correctly, there's little chance you could blow o...

Re: Stepper driver and Stepper shield

I think it's a matter of preference. I'll play both sides for the sake of argument: Stepper Shield: - I like kits! They makes me feel more involved with the project and building it up gives me a better understanding of how it works. - I like the idea that I can replace the Pololu drivers. More speci...

Re: Stepper driver and Stepper shield

Hi Jahn! Welcome to the forum I assume you're referring to the grblshield Grblv1.jpg vs Buildlog Stepper Shield DSCN1913-300x226.jpg The grblshield is a 3 axis all in one solution from Synthetos. It features TI stepper drivers capable of pushing your motors with up to 2.5A of current. It's a clean d...
