Re: Vac or planer ?

My wife and I have two little girls (6 and 4) - they're in the shop with me a lot. I have a toolbox with all their stuff in it: everything from crayons and paints to screws and nails and a small tool set (hammer, screwdriver, tiny pry bar, and a cordless screwdriver I picked up at menards). They can...

I am really *really* sorry about that Frank. We have never forgotten that part before, and to be forgetting things like that now is downright embarrassing. We'll get you fixed up first thing tomorrow.

Re: Shapeoko 3 - Walnut Carbide Logo

@brian - i actually have a table like this for my shapeoko 2! Someone here on the forum made one for themselves (a few years ago) and I asked (and paid) for them to make one for me as well! Same principal, but it was 1/4" aluminum if I remember correctly, so it wasn't as large or as heavy, but it st...

...Z axis upgrade also? Not really an upgrade, more like a prototype. It's a design I've been playing with for a few months now. I formed the edges around and put an extra set of spindle mount holes higher in the plate (between the v-wheels). This is the 3rd revision and the jury is still out on if...

Shapeoko 3 - Walnut Carbide Logo

Hi All - I spent some time today playing with the new aluminum table and clamps. Here's a video of the Carbide 3D logo I cut from a piece of walnut I had in my bin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXNJ6JH64Z4 Job Specifications: Stock Material - Walnut (11-1/2" x 5-1/2" x 7/8") Cutting Bit - 3 Flute...

We are actually in the process of making a new vice for the Shapeoko. Although the nomad vice is great, we feel like a slightly larger version for the Shapeoko would be ideal. Speaking of the table - I did some more work with it today and it's really great. With the rigidity of the table you can cla...

Re: Workflow - 3D from CAD to CAM for newbies

@DannyBoyNYC - actually - it's much easier than any of that. Here is an approximation of your part - and the process I would use to create it in makercam. Note - the important part here is that by selecting the two rectangles we created, makercam recognizes them as being nested, and allows you to pe...

A picture of the clamps - the kit will come with 4 clamps, and a few sizes of M6 screws to accommodate common sizes of material. The rear of the clamp is threaded, with the intent of using an M6 screw as the 'jack' to direct the force onto the side touching the material. These are nice looking parts...

Re: Carbide 3D's Blog:Say goodbye to MDF. We love this new t

Hi all! I'm just finding this thread today. Sorry for the delay. This table is not for everyone. This is the table I wanted for my personal machine, figuring others might as well, we had a small batch of them made. They will retail for $400 and come with 4 aluminum adjustable hold down clamps. The t...
