Re: Official SO3 Hello World

Ok - let's take a step back and see what's going on. Issue a command manually - looks like you're using UGS: click 'commands' and type the following in to the text box (assuming your z axis is at 0, and is about in the middle of the travel) Send: G0 Z10 - should move Z axis 10mm higher Send: G0 Z0 -...

Re: Official SO3 Hello World

Hi Adam - Go back to the KB article and re-download the file: http://docs.carbide3d.com/article/37-shapeoko-3-hello-world I just updated the g-code to define units (G21 = millimeters) instead of assuming your machine was in mm mode! That was my mistake, should be fixed now. Also - after watching you...

Re: New Machine, New Software?

That's an interesting issue i wonder if it's an inkscape setting or a cambam setting? For instance - if someone else opens your inkscape file in their cambam do they see the same results? Regardless - if you're drawing things, especially mechanical things, draftsight is a much better long term solut...

Additional information (from a 3 year old blog post I wrote and originally courtesty of bigbluesaw.com): For better DXF exports from inkscape, download the big blue saw DXF extension: http://www.bigbluesaw.com/media/BigBlueSawDXFOutput-Version0.2.zip Once downloaded: On Linux or Windows: Close all o...

Re: Official SO3 Hello World

Jem-tech - I think you need to change your microstep settings on your machine. The helloworld appears to be 1/2 the size it should be?

Change the dip switches from 1/8 to 1/4 on your X and Y1 and Y2 switches.

Otherwise - LOOKS GREAT!

Re: #105 is alive

Hardware scaling? That made me smile Will.

One could do that, but only on the X and Y. changing the Z axis would mess up your depth of cut. The switches are high quality surface mount switches, but I wouldn't be flipping them back and forth very often.

Re: #105 is alive

Just watched your video, nice work! I noticed your drawing is about 1/2 the size as it should be. On your controller, flip the microstep switches to 1/4 (from 1/8) on your X and Y axis. See this doc for help - http://docs.carbide3d.com/article/21-what-should-the-dip-switches-be-set-to-on-my-shapeoko...

Me too!

We had a stack of those badges that we use for all of our Nomad machines. Ends up, they look great on the S3 spindle mount too!

We've ordered a bunch more, once they're delivered, we'll make them available.
