Re: 3D printed step blocks
I like the Makita, use it mostly with the Elaire collect (could not find a 1/8" in Europe) but to be honest I can't compare as I never had anything else on the SO3....

dust shoe updated for new SO3 Zplate
FYI, updated my dust shoe design to accommodate the new Z plate. You can still find it here for download; https://www.youmagine.com/designs/shapeoko3-dust-shoe-with-quick-release-v2 sucker1.jpg sucker2.jpg and I used a few wedges to tighten the Z belt again, also printed these; https://www.youmagine...

3D printed step blocks
FYI, just uploaded some 3d printable step blocks. Main objectives; the bolt falls into the block so it can stay close to the piece it's holding, the thing is relatively low to stay out of the way of my dust suction. https://www.youmagine.com/designs/low-profile-step-block-clamps-for-cnc 1XS.jpg 2XS....

Re: Shapeoko3 #1331 - Europe, The Netherlands
Finally managed to replace the printed makita adaptor for a decent aluminium one. Got some 60mm diameter , 2 mm thick tubing here: https://www.aluminiumopmaat.nl/aluminium-buizen/aluminium-buis-rond.html The 2 mm was to much, good not get it in, so I had a company take of 0.25mm on the lathe and now...

Re: Shapeoko3 #1331 - Europe, The Netherlands
hmm... actually I consider these prints very rough, just prints with a big 0.6 nozzle and 0.2 layer... normal quality on an Ultimaker is much better....

Re: Shapeoko3 #1331 - Europe, The Netherlands
I loose a little on Y, but that doesn't bother me at all. The setup is easy to remove should I ever need the full Y size.
The setup can probably be made a tiny bit more compact on the left, but I'm not going to be bothered by it now, maybe later... who knows ...

Re: Router interference\Spindle size for SO3
I'm running a similar setup, 2.3 board & Makita. Since I got the 2.3 board I have not had any disconnects (but I did no do any supper long jobs). I did not do any complicated stuff, no special grounding etc.. The only thing I can think of being different are: - I twisted all motor cables - I run fro...

Re: Brush for dust shoe in europe
I could also only find stiff brushes, so I made a dust shoe that's not moving up and down with the router, I think it works pretty nice. Also added a quick release for easy height adjustment and tool change; https://www.youmagine.com/designs/shapeoko3-dust-shoe-with-quick-release http://www.shapeoko...
