Re: Shapeoko3 #1331 - Europe, The Netherlands

Replaced the printed bar with aluminium, much stiffer. Also added a quick release for height adjustment, it's a quick release meant for a bike saddle. I'm very satisfied with the result, specially when using it on a large flat piece of wood its taking away 99% of all dust. DustSuckerAlu.jpg SO3DustS...

Re: Shapeoko3 #1331 - Europe, The Netherlands

Just finished my new dust suction brush... will give it a first run over the weekend... the only brushes I could find in the hardware store where in a anti draft letterbox plate.. I was intending to glue them in, but the fit was so tight I had to hammer them in (the base is metal) so no need. I'll p...

Re: Shapeoko3 #1331 - Europe, The Netherlands

As already mentioned in the "disconnect topic" the new 2.3 board seems to have solved my issue. Did not do any long jobs... but feeling confident. http://www.shapeoko.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6545&start=160 Also uploaded the design of the electronics covers here; https://www.youmagine.com/desig...

Re: S3 stops mid-job

Just did the first short (15min) cut with the 2.3 board. No problems, no disconnect. Obviously only 1 small cut, but feeling optimistic. Also turned the makita on and off a few times, no problem. What I did; - replaced 2.2 board by 2.3 - twisted all motor wires - separated the power and usb cable - ...

Re: S3 stops mid-job

and the super quick answer from support;
We put the kapton tape to isolate electrically, we don't want the board to short out on the mounting plate. It doesn't affect the heat sink properties of the aluminum plate

Re: S3 stops mid-job

another question, just noticed there's a sort of tape, looking like Kapton tape, on the metal electronics plate, at the point of thermal transfer contact. To be clear this was there originally when my v2.2 board was mounted. I'm not sure if it kapton, but if it is, I always thought kapton is a heat ...

and here's the reply from support;
We use Arctic Silver
Any PC cooling stuff should work though. I would recommend cleaning the heatsink if you're applying new paste, alcohol will take it right off.
