Re: Shapeoko #736 is born

Yeah I noticed that after a few runs. I think I'll upgrade a dual drive soon. :)

Re: Shapeoko #736 is born

Thanks for the comments. @cvoinescu : it is actually a single-drive Y. But I couldn't figure by the picture :) good catch. I already plan on upgrading it to a dual drive. I noticed some issues with the X axis, because it's not rigid enough. It creates some issues, particularly when drawing 45° lines...

Shapeoko #736 is born

Hello folks, After a few trouble while assembling electronic, I managed to get my shapeoko working ! :) This is defintely not the very first run, because I had to adjust stuffs (excentric nuts, belt tension...). I would say it's my 8 or 10th drawing. I still have some little issues on the big O and ...

Re: Z axis plastic captive nut.

Hello, Same for me here. Impossible to use the Z-Axis (I can't even mount it because it's too hard to screw). If I rephrase right : The Z axis threaded rod is 5/16'' And the delrin nut is M8. Right ? Looks like tapping the delrin nut will do it, but I don't have a 5/16'', and I'm not sure I'll find ...

Re: Power supply failure ?

Hello, I'm already looking for some better electronic. I'd like to create some enclosure with connector for my arduino + grbl to avoid all the wire running on my desk. Would this kind of power supply be good for the shapeoko ? http://www.lextronic.fr/P5116-alimentation-a-decoupage-24v100w-chassis-fe...

Re: Power supply failure ?

Thanks for the reply :) Don't get me wrong, I already appreciate all the work you've done so far ! I can now afford my first CNC, thanks to you ! I won't be able to take a picture for the next 2 weeks. I'm out for work. The only thing I can think of is me connecting the motor the wrong way. But as I...

[Solved] Power supply failure ?

Hello all, I just received my Shapeoko from batch 3 a couple weeks ago and started to assemble it yesterday. For information, it was the full kit. Everything went (pretty much) fine until the assembly of the electronic. Living in France, I received an extra wire with an adaptor for the 24v power sup...
