Re: AtomCNC Future

I would love to actually start building these things... but am afraid of indiegogo and kickstarter...

You think something this simple would work?

Re: AtomCNC Future

Also a good part of having it able to handle 25A is 10A would generate close to no heat. Also it would only save about $3... which isnt a lot

Re: AtomCNC Future

Thanks guys. Im sticking with the Arduino Style mainly because most of the work is already done... so i can simply add on stuff. Yeah 3 I/O for what ever is needed on Rev1.. As for Rev 2... i plan on going the MEGA type route... possibly a Atmega2561 which has no shortage of pins. I chose this for a...

Re: AtomCNC Future

Ok i was thinking... People seem to want to hold control more power... but more power = more $$$

I can make a 45v @ 25A controller for a SINGLE STEPPER (4 wire) for about $75 sale price... would that be needed and cost effective? Or would something less be better?

Re: AtomCNC Future

Ok im making it Modular. Mainly because It would make my life easier and also i can then create custom controllers... mines will be able to drive upto 9A @ 40v.... might pick that up... not sure...

Also modular system would allow simpler upgrades, better cooling, all heat isnt in 1 place.

Re: AtomCNC Future

Ok i wanted to ask... would a Modular type system be good for CNC? Or a Single Large PCB?
