How do you organise your project files

I wasn't sure whether to post this under software or here so mods feel free to move it if necessary This might become more obvious to me once I actually start cutting some projects but I am currently in the process of assembling my Shapeoko3. I am also trying to learn Vcarve using the free trial. Wh...

Re: Where to find information--Beginning SO3 User

Thanks for those links Will. I have printed out a couple of the pdfs Last night I assembled the waste-board and end-plates plus the xz assembly. Spent ages try to align the (misaligned)outside holes in my wasteboard - that I drilled myself I hasten to add, only to eventually discovered it was not an...

Re: Where to find information--Beginning SO3 User

Many thanks for your work. As a real noob about to assemble my SO3 this is going to be used a heap. Sometimes its hard ducking back and forth finding all the bits I need to know. One other thing that would be a big help, and I might try it later as my contribution if nobody else does it, would be to...

Re: And so the spend commences

@WillAdams Finally tracked how I managed to get two different copies of the drawings for the wasteboard. If you go to the SO3 Wiki under Drawings: Wasteboard: http://carbide3d.com/files/S3_Wasteboard.pdf S3099[121][122] Unofficial_S3099_xl.svg And click on the pdf you get the latest(??) drawing (S3S...

Re: And so the spend commences

@ willadams. The incorrect(???) Drawing is dated 23/4/2015 (ref S3099)and I think I may have picked it up from a post on this site but I have no idea where. I do know it appears to be referenced in an earlier post re wasteboard dimensions by RawIndesign where the dimensions were "changed" by 1.73mm ...

Re: And so the spend commences

My problem is that I have 2 plans with measurements for the wasteboard - both drawn by Edward. One is solely in mm and the other in mm/imperial. The metric measurements are different on each one! Not by much but when I have to put a bolt into a threaded hole "not much" is too much. :o I thought of u...

Re: And so the spend commences

Thanks Will, It's the same with wood turning lathes..the cost is in the tools as much as the lathes. I wondered about using router cutters especially as I have several I use with my big Hitachi and Triton routers. That chart is also useful. At the moment I am struggling with marking up the hole cent...

And so the spend commences

My SO3 has arrived!! I have to make a wasteboard for mine as my friend remove it from the package to make it easier to transport. As he saved me over $400 us in freight and 15% Duty I guess I can't complain. I have the MDF cut and just have to Mark and drill holes. Now I need to sort out some cutter...
