Re: Can't seem to make those Tabs to show up in Gcode

In MakerCam I find that If you window over a portion of both the tool path and the profile to select it and then do "Add tabs to selected" it will work.

Re: Part library as a design aid

I think things could be setup with subtractive manufacturing in mind. Something that supports 2.5D Could have a variable for stock material and then subtractive features that would generate G-Code. The resulting Open SCAD model would be for visual verification. Perhaps the tool path could also be ge...

I'm interested, but also cnfused --- what is solidpython and how did I miss it and why isn't it wikified?? I found: https://github.com/SolidCode/SolidPython is it related to https://github.com/bjbsquared/SolidPy/blob/master/readme.md ? It is only related in the sense that it was inspired by it. I h...

Re: Contemplating handwork

I'm a HUGE fan of using the appropriate tool for the job. One of the things I make is a block of wood with 50 bored holes in it. In the past I have used my drill press to make these using spacer blocks to position the holes. It takes about 15 minutes to make one on the drill press. I was hoping the...

Re: CamBam is trying to kill my Shapeoko

I really like these from drillman1: 0.125 2 flute with "horns" Why do you prefer these with "horns" to a normal endmill? I have V, endmill and ball shaped so far.. :) It cuts waaaay better than the bit that comes with the machine. It seems to be really good at plunging. Also the surface fuzz seems ...

Excellent! It looks like you spent the extra time planning. You will be very happy with this.

I see you have used lock washers also. To bad because you will miss the 'joy' of see parts vibrate off and land in the middle of the work surface during a job. :D

Woking Area Sign

I finally got around to cutting some wood today. Everything went alright except I have more suction than I planned for. The skirt is getting sucked up in places. It's really nice having the dust shoe and vacuum system. I made some what of a cornerstone for the bed with the max working size. The font...
