I've been getting annoyed with the lack of a real "0,0,0" on my machine also. I really need to get my homing/limit switches setup. On the other hand, if you are running GRBL 0.8c you can set $7 to 255 and that will lock the stepper motors. Then you are less likely to push the machine around while ch...

Actually, the big machines of yesteryear (which I used to work with) have a selector, usually graduated .001/.010/.100/1.000. The table travel on a full size mill can be upwards of 30". Traversing that .001" at a time, even with a large knob would be very slow. As for the kickstarter, I didn't reall...

Interesting. I've been noodling on the idea of making a "jog box" for my ShapeOko that would have a quadrature dial on it. It would also have a switch to select which axis you want to move and a switch for how far to move per click of the wheel. Something like this http://www.centroidcnc.com/images/...

For 2D drawing it looks like LibreCAD will run on OSX.
