Re: Setting limits

I sell limit switch kits in my Etsy store. I created a kit right after the S3 was released and before CM made theirs.

Re: Setting limits

$22 enables the homing cycle. You can't run the homing cycle without limit switches. This is why you are getting an alarm. If this is enabled the machine will be in alarm state until you run the homing cycle. Set this back to 0. $20 enables soft limits. This is what you want. $110 sets the max speed...

Re: Homing within a part

I would be more focussed on fixing the Z axis drift instead of re-homing. Why is the axis drifting? Is it losing steps? Maybe the stepper motor is overheating. Or your Z carriage is binding. Or your stepper motor is under-sized. Or you are plunging too fast. Or your stepper motor is bad. Is it skipp...

I haven't used it, but lots of people swear by Boeshield T-9. https://boeshield.com/

Looks like loose belts or slipping pulleys to me.

Electrical panel for my camper

Look - a project from twforeman! I'm been a very bad Shapeoko owner - I haven't been using it at all for a while. But I finally dusted it off and made something. We recently bought a small 5x8 camper from Escapade Campers . http://i.imgur.com/CGWNqgph.jpg It came with a very rudimentary electrical s...

Re: twforeman's Shapeoko 3 #0004 Upgrades - Long

When I got the new Z plate installed I discovered that I could no longer reach the bed of the machine, so I ended up removing the lift blocks under the rails.

So no, I can no longer get material under the front and rear rails. I could still run long skinny material under the Y rails if I wanted.

Re: twforeman's Shapeoko 3 #0004 Upgrades - Long

I'm a bad Shapeoko owner, I don't use my machine nearly as much as I should.

But I did use it a few weeks ago and it worked great.

I used it to make a crank wheel for a project.

Re: stuff to post to the wiki

Hmm. Wonder if I need to tweak something for SSL.

I'll try and take a look at it shortly.

Re: y-axis limit switch installation issue

First thing that popped into my head was that you could just file a flat onto the standoff so it clears the wheel.

You could contact support at Carbide 3D and they would probably send you a new plate, but that would require disassembling the machine to install.
